I must be one of the newest members here. Trained in June and assessed in July – just in time to join in with you all at the AGM.
I was an outdoor pursuits instructor for 10 years then a desk jockey for 25 - working in IT - and am now enjoying good honest (dirty!) practical work. I like that there’s more to this than most people think and plenty of potential to keep learning - all while working for myself. I also like the collaborative approach of the Guild and was impressed with the friendliness and willingness to help each other at the AGM gathering. Thanks to all those I met. I reckon this forum has the potential to be invaluable, especially to newbies like me.
I can see I need to give Tom Lancaster a courtesy call and I know of PDD down my way too – if any other Guild sweeps reckon they’re close to me let me know & I’ll give you a call. Don’t want to tread on any toes as I get started.
