Practice doing the vent calculation in the same units all the way through eg square cm.

Also if your working on an oil boiler make sure it's turned off at the main switch so it doesn't ignite whilst you've got the lower flue blocked, a little Male hen up I made today. Bit stressful for a few few minutes. In essence if it's going wrong don't panic, take control and deal with it.

I did this oil burner properly today, no molten lumps of foam floating around the kitchen this time. The pic is fine, it was actually very fuzzy in there.
